The Hussite Trilogy

 A. Sapkowski

The trilogy depicts the adventures of the knight Reynevan and his companions during the 13th century in Silesia. The story is set during a religious war between Catholics and Protestants where historical events blend with literary fiction, and the presented world is constantly enriched with elements of magic and folk beliefs.

I sought inspiration for the trilogy among old engravings and medieval codices without falling into the popular contemporary aesthetics of fantasy illustration.
